Artur Agajanov: Future of Karabakh is connected with Azerbaijan

The Armenians of Karabakh can take advantage of the economic opportunities of Azerbaijan and live much better, head of the Movement of Karabakh Armenians, Artur Agajanov, told Report.

"Was a new escalation necessary to begin reintegration? Was it necessary for blood to be shed again? Why didn’t this junta withdraw the armed forces of Armenia from Karabakh and liquidate the defense army after 2020, holding civilians hostage? Three years after the 44-day war were wasted. We must understand that the future of Karabakh is connected with Azerbaijan," Agajanov said.

Member of the Movement of Karabakh Armenians Valery Yeritsyan also spoke about the three years lost because of the junta, during which the life of the Armenians living in Karabakh could have improved.

“Financial assistance provided by Armenia to the junta was used only for military needs while ordinary people continued to live in difficult socioeconomic conditions both before the 44-day war and after. At the same time, the restoration of Karabakh by Azerbaijan which began in 2020 could also cover the cities and villages where Armenians live. It was because of the junta that we lost almost three years, during which the life of the Armenians in Karabakh could have been improved," Yeritsyan said.
