Armenian man leaving Karabakh: 'I wish Armenians and Azerbaijanis to live in peace'

"I wish Armenians and Azerbaijanis to live in peace," Samvel Yevriyan told journalists in Lachin before departing to Armenia, according to Report.

"Who said that the joint co-existence with Azerbaijanis impossible? It is possible! I had hundreds of Azerbaijani friends. We used to work together," he said answering the question of whether the two nations can live together. He said he acted in a play staged in Baku back in the Soviet times.

"I would really like to see my friends, artists from Azerbaijan. Avtandil Israfilov (late harmonica player, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan) was my close friend, together with Zeynab Khanlarova and her ensemble, I had a concert in Khankandi. I had many connections with Azerbaijanis," he said , adding that Avtandil visited his house in Yerevan and Khankandi.

Yevriyan emphasized that he did not live in Karabakh, he worked here, came and left at intervals of several times a year and now he leaves it of his own free will.
