Araz Imanov: Armenia deliberately destroyed Azerbaijani cities

Armenia deliberately and systematically destroyed Azerbaijani cities and villages, Araz Imanov, Advisor to the President's Special Representation in the Karabakh Economic Region (excluding the Shusha district), said in Aghdam during the annual high-level strategic consultations between the Azerbaijani Government and local UN offices, Report informs.

According to Araz Imanov, during the years of occupation of the territories of Azerbaijan, historical and cultural monuments, as well as religious objects, were vandalized: "Mosques were deliberately destroyed and desecrated. Armenia destroyed 462 libraries completely and stole about 40,000 exhibits from museums."

During the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, Armenia also conducted illegal archaeological excavations there.

He stressed that Azerbaijan treats all religious confessions with respect.
