China to build technology park in Uzbekistan

The Tianjin University of Science and Technology of China will build a technology park for the production of biotechnical products in the Yangier free economic zone in the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan. The cost of the project is $50 million, Report informs via Uzbek media.

The announcement was made after a meeting between the khokim (head) of the Syrdarya region Akmaljon Makhmudaliev and the director of the High Technologies and Innovations techno park of the Tianjin University of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China Bovi Zhang.

The project provides for the creation of 500 new jobs.

Using modern equipment, they will obtain bone protein from cattle bones, produce sugar substitutes and fortified syrups from licorice, as well as fermented products from processed wheat, corn and soybean grains using Chinese technology. In addition, logistics and customs centers with an area of 10 hectares will begin to operate on the basis of the technology park.

The parties agreed to create a joint working group and regularly hold negotiations on issues arising during the construction of the facility.

The regional khokim expressed his readiness to support proposals for the introduction of information technologies.

In turn, Zhang spoke about the research center and modern scientific laboratory, which will be created jointly with the Yangier branch of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.
