Azerbaijani rower competes in World Championship

Baku. 25 September. REPORT.AZ/ The 2017 World Rowing Championships has kicked off in Sarasota, Florida, USA. 

At the popular regatta with 382 athletes from 69 countries, Alexander Alexandrov represents Azerbaijan.

He has competed in single scull, the 2,000-meter (M1x) distance race. World Rowing U23 Championship winner finished the fourth after the rowers from Poland, Switzerland and Puerto-Riko for 7:26.52 minutes. He was ahead only of his rivals from Salvador.

If 27-year-old rower takes one of two places in consolation games today, he will be qualified for ¼ finals. He will race with athletes Benin, Monaco, USA, Ukraine and Bahamas.

The 2017 World Rowing Championships will end on October 1.
