Zakir Garalov: 77 people were brought to criminal responsibility, 11 were declared wanted due to Ganja events

Baku. 28 September. REPORT.AZ/ "The group of people who committed terrorist act against the head of the Ganja City Executive Authority and those who supported this terrorist act has been identified. 77 people have been brought to criminal responsibility. They have been arrested by the relevant court decisions and 11 people have been declared wanted," Azerbaijan's Attorney General Zakir Garalov said speaking to reporters.

Report informs that Garalov said two wanted persons were detained and brought to the country: "Some criminals have been identified and serious measures are underway to extradite them. The organizers and instigators of that terrorist act are fully determined by the investigation. No one can avoid this reponsibility. We consider that the criminal case will be concluded by the end of this year. Notably, on August 17, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service issued a joint information on the terrorist act and mass riots in Ganja. It was said in a statement that the investigation was underway on the facts including a purposefully planned terrorist act against the head of the Ganja City Executive Power Elmar Valiyev and the police officer Gasim Ashbazov on July 3, 2018, killing of two police officers who were carrying out their duty by the radical religious group that supported that terrorist act during massive riot in Ganja and other facts.
