Torrential rains cause widespread damage in west of Azerbaijan

The western regions of Azerbaijan, including Dashkasan, Gadabay, Tovuz, Shamkir, Samukh, and Goygol districts, have been hit by intense rainfall, leading to a range of consequences.

According to Report's western bureau, the heavy downpours in recent days have caused water levels in many rivers to rise, resulting in overflowing and flooding.

In Dashkasan and its surrounding villages, floodwaters have inundated household plots and agricultural fields. The villages of Bayan and Gushchu have been particularly affected, with landslides damaging rural road surfaces. The Ganja-Dashkasan highway has also experienced partial traffic disruptions due to the heavy rains.

Similar situations have been observed in remote villages of Shamkir, Goygol, and Tovuz districts, where agricultural fields and private farms have suffered damage. In the Gadabay district, a VAZ car belonging to a local resident was swept away by mudflows that rendered rural roads impassable for some time.

Rainy weather persists in the region, with dense fog observed on the Dashkasan-Ganja and Shamkir-Gadabay highways.
