Kazakh Transport Ministry: AZAL plane made two turns in airspace before crash

After entering the airspace of Kazakhstan, the AZAL passenger plane made two turns near the Aktau airport, and on the third turn it crashed, there was no threat to residential buildings, Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev said at a briefing, Report informs.

"After entering the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the aircraft made two turns near the Aktau airport and after that, on the third turn, it collided with the ground. There were no residential buildings in the immediate vicinity and there was no threat to them," he said, answering a relevant question.

Lastayev noted that during the investigation, flight recorders will be deciphered, eyewitnesses and dispatchers will be interviewed, and the commission to investigate the aviation accident, which was created by order of the minister of transport, will make appropriate conclusions in a timely manner.

"It is absolutely premature to talk about anyone's fault now," he added.
