Interior Ministry: 554 people prosecuted, 40 arrested during pandemic

The preventive measures related to the violation of the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic, and quarantine regimes are kept under control, Report informs, citing the Interior Ministry.

Since March last year, 554 people have been prosecuted into 1,030 criminal cases by law enforcement agencies to prevent the threat of coronavirus disease in Azerbaijan, as they created a real threat of the spread of the disease in violation of the quarantine regime (Article 139). -1. Violation of the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic, or quarantine regimes). The courts sentenced 40 people to arrest, 54 to police custody, and 460 to other restraint measures.

"We recommend citizens to strictly follow the requirements and rules of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers and not be indifferent to their own and other people's health," the ministry said.

Internal affairs bodies continue to strengthen control-preventive measures in protecting the rules and requirements of the special quarantine regime.
