Injured parties in criminal case of Azerbaijan’s former ambassador named

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance have been recognized as injured parties in the criminal case of the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Eldar Hasanov.

Hasanov’s case will be considered in the Baku Court on Grave Crimes presided by judge Afgan Hajiyev.

The former ambassador is facing charges under Articles 179.3.2 (large-scale embezzlement), 193-1.3.2 (legalization of money or other property obtained by the criminal way; large-scale), 308.2 (abuse of power which led to grave consequences), 308.1.1 (misuse of the state budget means) and 313 (forgery in office) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The indictment on the criminal case was approved and submitted for consideration in the Baku Court on Grave Crimes on August 16.
