Heat wave threatens Notre dame de Paris

Notre dame de Paris today faces a new threat - a heat wave, Philippe Villeneuve, chief architect of the Historic Monuments, said.

Report informs citing Euronews that, according to Villeneuve, on April 15, firefighters poured the equivalent of eight Canadair and there is still much water in the building.

"Heatwaves and humidity are a danger for the cathedral."

He added that the water may get dried too fast because of record heat in the country. This may cause a threat to the load-bearing construction of the building.

Workers engaged in extracting debris after fires, install special fortifications to prevent the alleged collapse.
