Criminal case opened against officials of Red Crescent Society

A criminal case has been launched against the officials of the regional branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told Report.

Upon the information about the illegal actions of the officials of the Barda branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, the General Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General launched a criminal case on Article 311 of the Criminal Code (a receipt of a bribe) on 25.05.2021.

According to the preliminary investigation, during the tenure of the chairman of the Barda branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Ismayilov Khanlar Kheyrulla (since 2012), there have been well-founded suspicions that officials of the branch repeatedly received a large amount of money as a bribe.

At present, operative-investigative measures are being taken to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
