Criminal case initiated related to mine explosion in Aghdam

The district prosecutor's office received information that six civilians were hit by an anti-personnel mine in the liberated territory of the Aghdam region on March 16 at 16:00, Report informs, citing the Aghdam District Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, Huseynov Akif Mukhtar, Huseynov Anar Akif, and Abdulov Bahruz Nadir were seriously wounded due to landmines in the area, Huseynov Razi Akif and Huseynov Bayram Akif died from their injuries, and the minor Huseynov Huseyn Razi was not injured.

The prosecutor's office and police inspected the scene, ordered a forensic examination, and took other necessary procedural actions.

The Aghdam District Prosecutor's Office launched a criminal case under Articles 100.2 (planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of wars of aggression), 116.0.6 (violation of international humanitarian law during an armed conflict), 120.2.7 (deliberate murder of two or more persons) and other articles of the Criminal Code.

Currently, the prosecutor's office is conducting intensive investigations.
