Azerbaijani security body vows to protect state interests, prevent illegal calls

"On September 27, 2021, commemorative events were held in the cities and districts of the country as a sign of respect for the souls of our citizens, who fell during the Great Patriotic War. During these events, the sacred memories of the sons and daughters of the Fatherland, who fell for the just war of our people, were commemorated,” Report informs, citing the State Security Service (SSS) website.

According to the SSS website, in some cases, some people purposefully used the remembrance ceremonies of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War with the intention of propaganda of radical religious and ideological discrimination. They were found to have disseminated videos and acted in a way that harmed the interests of society and the state.

"The men in question were summoned to the State Security Service and their illegal conducts were prevented. Depending on religious, racial or other affiliation, they were warned that their calls for incitement to hatred and enmity were prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the Azerbaijan Republic. We state that conducts contrary to the Constitution of the Azerbaijani Republic, the legally protected interests of society and the state and security interests will be resolutely prevented from now on," the statement reads.
