18 passengers of crashed AZAL plane remain in hospital in Kazakhstan

As many as 18 passengers from the AZAL airline plane crash near Aktau remain in the Mangystau Regional Multi-Profile Hospital, said Zhanar Baimanova, the head of the hospital's medical services quality control department, Report informs via Kazakh media.

"Five of them are in intensive care, four are in serious condition, and one woman is in extremely critical condition," she said.

She noted that the most common injuries among passengers are fractures, abdominal injuries, lung injuries, and both open and closed head trauma. A total of 27 passengers were admitted to the hospital after the plane crash.

"Of these, eight adults and one child were transported to Russia, while the rest - citizens of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan - remain in our hospital," she clarified.
