The US supports respect for the rights of all in the South Caucasus region, including Azerbaijanis who left Armenia, Report informs referring to the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The embassy was responding to a question whether the US is ready to support Azerbaijanis willing to return to Armenia, from where they were expelled 30 years ago.
"The United States supports creating the conditions for a just and dignified peace in the region, where the rights of all – no matter their ethnicity or country of origin - are respected," the diplomatic mission said.
The only way to a sustainable peace that serves the interests of everyone is at the negotiating table, it added.
US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien has said recently that the US supports the right to the safe return of Armenians who left the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
