International observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States (CIS IPA) will take part in the monitoring of the early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan on February 9.
Report informs citing the IPA CIS press service that the decision was made based on an invitation from the Chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Oqtay Asadov, to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
In this regard, based on a corresponding order of the Secretary-General - the head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council, Dmitry Kobitsky, the Baku branch of the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy, Parliamentarism, and Observance of the Electoral Rights of Citizens of the IPA CIS Member States began organizing long-term monitoring of early elections in the Milli Majlis.
