Price of imported medicines declines in Azerbaijan

Baku. 3 August. REPORT.AZ/ The prices of the pharmaceutical products imported to Azerbaijan in January-June of this year have declined by 20%.

Report informs citing the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to information, while the average price for one ton of the pharmaceutical products imported to the country in the first half-year was $ 16,46 000, this indicator was 20, 64 000 USD in the corresponding period of last year.

Notably, within 6 months of this year, some 5 278, 18 tons of pharmaceutical products worth 86 866,16 000 USD have been imported to Azerbaijan. In 2016, the import volume was 4 498,74 tons worth $ 92 868,59 000. Thus, the import volume of pharmaceutical products has risen by 17,33 %, and the import price has decreased by 6,46%.

In total, some 2,55% of the country’s import has fallen on the share of pharmaceutical products.
