Funding being sought for implementing national development priorities - minister

"Azerbaijan 2030: A project has been developed to implement the National Priorities on socio-economic development," Finance Minister Samir Sharifov told a joint meeting of the parliamentary committees on public associations and religious organizations, science and education, family, women and children, health and culture, Report informs.

The implementation of this strategy may require additional funding, he said.

"We know that additional funding will probably be required. In this regard, it is possible that the budget will be amended. From what sources will these funds be sought? We must find answers to these questions."

The minister said that at the same time, Azerbaijan must strengthen its defense capabilities and security vis-à-vis our vicious neighbor.

"This, in turn, requires large expenditures. If we do not provide them, our development plans may be under threat. Restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories is being carried out, and all this requires large expenditures," he said.
