The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which exports Kazakh oil to the Russian Black Sea coast in Novorossiysk for further shipment to world markets, has stopped work due to scheduled repairs since April 9, reads a statement from the press service of the consortium, Report informs.
“As of April 9, 2024, CPC began maintenance and connection of new equipment at the facilities of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil trunk pipeline. At the moment, oil loading at the sea terminal has also been stopped, its resumption is scheduled for April 11,” the statement says.
According to CPC, such 72-hour stoppages of oil pumping occur at least twice a year.
"Their schedule is coordinated in advance with all shippers, as well as with the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan," the consortium notes.
