Wind power production rose by 65.6% to 41.4 million kWh in January-August 2023, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The output in the sector of electric power, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 1,993.3 million ($1.17 billion) in the reporting period, up 1.9% from a year earlier.
The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 15.6%, settling at 369.1 million manats ($217.12 million).
Azerbaijan produced 18,124.7 million kWh of electricity in the reporting period, up 0.8% from the previous year. Of this, 17.508 billion kWh were commercial electricity, 0.7% more than the last year.
The hydropower plants produced 1,260,900,000 kWh of electricity, 2.4% less than a year ago.
The thermal power plants generated 16,159,400,000 kWh of energy, up 0.8% from a year earlier.
Solar power production increased by 7.1% to 46.5 million kWh.
