Azerbaijan’s solar power production up about 10%

The output in the sector of electric power, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 608.7 million ($358 million) in January-February 2023, up 8.3% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 15.9%, settling at 74.4 million manats ($43.76 million).

Azerbaijan produced 4.872 billion kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 5.7% from the previous year. Of this, 4.732 billion kWh were commercial electricity, 6% more than the last year.

The hydropower plants produced 115.9 million kWh of electricity, 20.6% less than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 4,599.2 million kWh of energy, 6.9% more than in 2022.

Wind power production fell by 2.3% to 8.9 million kWh, and solar power production increased by 9.3% to 8.2 million kWh.
