Digital technologies, particularly AI, are at the intersection of climate change mitigation and adaptation, Dietram Oppel, Vice Chair of the UN Climate Change Technology Executive Committee (TEC), said during a press conference.

TEC fully supports the COP29 declaration on the green digital agenda and strives to promote effective strategies, he said.

He said it's encouraging to see how AI is being used for effective climate action worldwide.
Oppel added that building appropriate capacity in developing countries is crucial for implementing climate change solutions.
