Baku. 10 February. REPORT.AZ/ Issues of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia were discussed today during a visit of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich to Baku.
Report informs, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters that he held a fruitful meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on this subject.
We stated that we have established strategic friendly relations in the political sphere and it allows us to promote economic projects successfully, said A. Dvorkovich, noting that trade between Azerbaijan and Russia is growing rapidly.
We buy more Azerbaijani goods in the Russian market, Azerbaijani products in our market demand, said Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
He noted that during the visit the possibility of the development of transport and energy corridor North-South Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran and cooperation in this area was also discussed. There are interesting joint projects in the pharmaceutical field and the production equipment.
According to him, the parties also agreed to intensify cooperation to harmonize a number of documents, including a plan for investment cooperation, agreement on synchronization of energy systems of the two countries to strengthen cooperation on trade and investment. We are capable to strengthen our direction against the background of the political difficulties that exist today in Europe and the US.
He stressed that such cooperation will benefit the entire region.
