Azerbaijan carried most foreign trade operations in Q3, least in Q1 - REVIEW

Baku. 22 January. REPORT.AZ/ In 2018 Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $30,923,603,000 with 31% performed in August, July and April, Report informs citing the State Customs Committee.

While August generated 10.4% or $3,217,852,000 of annual trade turnover, the indicator reached 10.35% or $3,202,887,000 in July, and 10.1% or $3,131,305,000 in April.

The export and import operations hit their lowest in in January ($1,728,466,000 -5.6%), March ($1,883,685,000 - 6.1%) and February ($1,935,238,000 - 6.3%).

Azerbaijan’s export in 2018 made up $19,458,633,000, with 11.8% or $2,296,759,000 in April, 10.95% or $2,131,466,000 in August, 10.7% or $2,085,925,000 in July.

The export operations hit their lowest in January, March and February with Azerbaijan’s export operations in January 2018 amounting to $1,038,707,000, which is equal to 5.3% of total turnover. These figures were $1,144,551,000 in March, $1,172,419,000 in February, respectively (5.9% and 6% of total turnover).

Import operations in 2018 made up $11,464,970,000, with nearly 34% carried in October, December and July. $11.75% or $1,347,479,000 of operations was carried out in October, 11.2% or $1,169,394,000 in December, 10.74% or $1,116,962,000 in July.

The lowest level of the import was recorded in January, March and April. So, Azerbaijan’s import operations in January 2018 amounted to $689,789,000, which is equal to 6% of total turnover. These figures were $ 739,133,000 in March, $ 762,819,000 in February, respectively 6.45% and 6.65% of total turnover.

Thus, the positive balance of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $7,993,662,000 with 43% was carried out in April, August and July. The positive balance was $1,462,213,000 or 18.3% in April, $1,045,080,000 or 13.1% in August and $968,963,000 or 12.1% in July.

The lowest level of the positive balance was recorded in October ($348.732 million or 4.4%), January ($3348.948 million or 4.4%) and September ($353.090 million or 4.4%).

Most trade operations appear to be carried out in the third quarter, and the lowest number of operations in the first quarter.
