Baku. 17 January. REPORT.AZ/ Moscow is increasing pressure on Yerevan to get proposals for continuing the negotiation process on Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, Russian expert Evgeny Mikhailov said. He commented to Report on the results of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Paris.
“The meeting itself is the only positive conclusion that so far can be drawn from the Paris meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia," Mikhailov stressed.
According to him, the OSCE MG does not fulfill its function as a mediator in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement. “We have not heard anything new, just words about strengthening the momentum of the negotiation process and wise thoughts about the need to come to a consensus,” the expert added.

He noted that Russia, the main guarantor of Armenia's security, has lately increased pressure directly on Yerevan to get "intelligible proposals" for further negotiation process.
"They have not been noticed yet, unlike Azerbaijan, which has a very constructive settlement plan, as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said yesterday," the political analyst said.
Mikhailov noted that in any case, the negotiation process continues and there is a hope that Baku will not be tired of waiting and will not decide on a military return of the occupied territories. "However, it should be bore in mind that Azerbaijan is ready for this for a long time, and only respect for partners and, above all, Russia, which is one of the most important global players and an ally of Baku in many economic and military-political projects, keeps Azerbaijan from choosing the military solution.
