Russian MFA reveals main goal in Karabakh

"The main issue in Karabakh is the restoration of ordinary life and the return of refugees," Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Report informs that Zakharova was commenting on the problems of journalists and tourists visiting the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

"We have to ask a question: what do we need now - to develop tourism in Karabakh? What is the main task? To achieve lasting peace, the return of refugees, and restoration of normal life?" Zakharova said.

Many issues will be resolved step by step.

Zakharova reminded that Russian peacekeepers are currently working on the main issue.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the parties, who signed the statement in November 2020, see the main goal as ensuring lasting peace and reviving Karabakh.
