Russia sharply increases sugar imports from Azerbaijan

In January 2022, Azerbaijan exported 2,788.15 tons of sugar worth $1.88 million, respectively, down 9.1% and up 24% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 2,562.5 tons of sugar worth $1.64 million to Turkmenistan (+25% and +65%, respectively), 224.31 tons worth $239,380 to Russia (+8.2 times and +5.6 times), 1.34 tons worth $1,700 to Israel (-10.7% and +13.3%).
In January 2022, Azerbaijan imported 206.39 tons of sugar worth $130,770 from six countries, down 85% and 81.5% from a year earlier.
