Poland resumes hazelnut export to Azerbaijan

In January 2022, Azerbaijan sold 2,786 tons of hazelnuts (shelled and unshelled) worth $16.19 million, Report says based on figures of the State Statistics Committee.

The exports increased by 56.3% in value terms and 71.5% in quantitative terms compared to the same period last year.

Azerbaijan sold 1,437 tons of hazelnuts worth $8.98 million to Italy, 490 tons worth $3.12 million to Germany, 461 tons worth $2.56 million to Russia, 120 tons worth $744,000 to Luxembourg, and 174 tons worth $383,000 to Kazakhstan.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 29 tons of hazelnuts worth $196,000, 40% and 38% more, respectively, as against the same period last year.

Azerbaijan delivered 19 tons of hazelnuts worth $132,000 from Germany, 10 tons worth $64,000 from Poland, and 100 kg worth $500 from Turkiye.

After a two-year hiatus, Azerbaijan resumed importing hazelnuts from Poland. In January 2021, Azerbaijan did not buy hazelnuts from Turkiye.
