Azerbaijan is accelerating its transition to export-oriented agriculture, Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov said.
Report informs that he made the remarks at the "Halal Economy for Sustainable Regional Integration" event held in Baku as part of the 51st Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group.
According to him, Azerbaijan's strategic vision has already been shaped within an institutional framework for investors seeking a long-term and predictable investment environment.
"The 2026-2030 State Program, approved under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, defines a clear and legally grounded roadmap for the development of an intensive, high-tech and export-oriented agricultural model. Regional consultations are being held in all economic regions to ensure the effective implementation of the program," Mammadov said.
He noted that this approach is aimed at adapting local production models to the requirements of international markets and investors" expectations.
"By investing in Azerbaijan, investors also gain direct access to structured cooperation mechanisms aimed at expanding trade ties within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and developing regional halal value chains. This makes the country an attractive regional hub for halal agricultural production and exports," the minister said.
Mammadov added that Azerbaijan is strengthening its digital infrastructure for agricultural investment.
"In modern agriculture, profitability and competitiveness depend primarily on efficiency. The future of Azerbaijan's agricultural development strategy is based on digitalization, transparency and green development principles," he said.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan is systematically reducing investment risks by creating modern agro-logistics centers, expanding cold chain infrastructure and minimizing post-harvest losses.
He said the Electronic Agricultural Information System forms the basis of operational efficiency by ensuring full transparency in the management of state support and subsidy mechanisms and creating a reliable database for farmers and investors.
Mammadov added that Azerbaijan is further strengthening its digital infrastructure by integrating artificial intelligence and data-driven innovative solutions into the agricultural sector.
"For investors, this means full traceability from production to the final consumer, high-quality control and full compliance with international halal standards," he said.
