Media: Russian grain planned to be sent to African countries by 40 ships

Russian grain intended for supply to needy African countries is planned to be transported by 40 ships loaded in the ports of Tuapse and Novorossiysk; the schedule will be specified in the coming days, Report informs referring to the Sabah newspaper.
Russia and Türkiye have reached an agreement on the supply of 1 million tons of grain, and the development of technical details will begin in the near future, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko said earlier.
“The grain that will be supplied from Russia is planned to be transported by ships with a carrying capacity of 25,000 tons and carried out by a total of 40 ships. The ships will be able to load grain in the ports of Tuapse and Novorossiysk, with the schedule being clarified in the coming days,” the publication writes.
Once the ships reach Türkiye, they will be processed in flour mills owned by the private sector.
“At the first stage, flour will be sent to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, Eritrea and the Central African Republic. Priority will be given to these countries that do not have flour processing capacity. The number of countries where flour is planned to be sent also includes Chad, Libya, Djibouti, Yemen and Ethiopia.”
