The strengthening of sanitary and phytosanitary measures will give impetus to the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan, Director of the State Plant Protection Service of Latvia Kristine Lomakina said at an event dedicated to the results of the EU-funded twinning project.
According to Report, she noted that agriculture is one of the main areas in the country.
This project is important because it brought Azerbaijani standards closer to EU standards, Lomakina said, adding that this will improve economic relations between the EU countries and Azerbaijan.
According to her, trainings were held within the framework of the implemented twinning project "Strengthening sanitary and phytosanitary measures in Azerbaijan", and its participants shared innovations in this area and IT technologies.
