Iran eyes increasing grain imports from Russia

Iran intends to increase grain imports from Russia, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said in an interview with RIA Novosti, Report informs.
According to him, it is possible to purchase more than 20 million tons of grain and oilseeds annually,
He noted that Iran’s policy in recent years has been to purchase a certain group of agricultural products from Russia, and in 2021, Iran, having imported 7 million tons of grain from Russia, ranks first in the import of these products from Russia.
“This process will also be expanded this year. In general, Iran has the capacity to annually import more than 20 million tons of grain and oilseeds from Russia,” the diplomat said.
