Kazakhstan's grain exports will reach 12 million tons in 2024, the Kazakh bureau of Report informs, citing the government's press service.
"Kazakhstan annually exports 8-9 million tons of grain, of which 6.5-7.5 million tons is wheat. The export geography covers more than 40 countries. Traditional markets include Central Asian countries, Afghanistan, China, Türkiye, Iran, Italy, and Tunisia," the information states.
According to government data, as of late November, Kazakh grain exports amounted to 6.3 million tons. Exports of the new harvest reached 2.37 million tons, which is 52% higher than in the same period of 2023.
"It is projected that this year's export potential will reach 12 million tons. The main markets will be Central Asian countries, China, Afghanistan, Italy, and others. Work is also underway on grain transportation of up to 2 million tons to countries such as Azerbaijan, Afghanistan (transit through Turkmenistan), Iran, Iraq, North African countries, and the EU through Black Sea and Baltic Sea ports," the information states.
