Goal of Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers announced

The Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers aims to bring together global partners to promote investments in climate-positive food systems and provide stronger support, especially for women and youth, Agriculture Minister of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov said during the discussion of decarbonization, adaptation of food systems and nature restoration at COP29 in Baku, Report informs.

The minister informed participants about the Azerbaijani government's initiatives to develop climate-resilient agriculture and transform food systems.

Mammadov emphasized the negative impact of climate change on the agricultural sector and talked about sustainable agriculture strategies, water resource management, and climate adaptation measures being implemented to address water scarcity and soil salinization problems.
