Azerbaijani population consumed 8 kilograms of fish per person in 2023

In 2023, the population of Azerbaijan consumed an average of 8 kilograms of fish and fish products per person, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
Last year, the country consumed a total of 81,442 tons of fish and fish products.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan had 87,166 tons of fish and fish products, of which 72% or 62,722 tons were production, 24.2%, or 21,081 tons were imports, and 3.8% or 3,363 tons were remaining products from the previous year.
Last year, 1,448 tons of fish resources were used for the production of non-food products, 651 tons of fish products were exported, and 178 tons were lost. As a result, by the end of the year, 3,447 thousand tons of fish stock was formed.
