Azerbaijan triples value of fertilizer imports from 3 key supply market

Azerbaijan imported 6,402 tons of fertilizer (apart from organic fertilizer) worth $4.7 million in January 2023, up 30.2% and up 2.2 times, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Below is the list of countries that exported organic fertilizer to Azerbaijan in the reporting period:

Russia – 5,564 tons (+36%) worth $3.8 million (+3 times);

Czechia – 312 tons (no imports a year ago) worth $321,200;

Slovakia – 384 tons (+2.3 times) worth $309,200 (+3 times);

Türkiye – 66.2 tons (-65%) worth $149,400 (-48%);

Georgia - 65 tons (-66%) worth $31,000 (-64%);

Some 83.4% of the 103,315 tons of fertilizer (apart from organic fertilizer) brought to Azerbaijan from 33 countries last year were purchased from Russia.
