Azerbaijan triples imports of canned chicken meat from Belarus

In January-August 2024, Azerbaijan imported 2,191 tons of preserved chicken meat products worth $7.86 million, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

The importds are 16% higher in value terms and 15% higher in quantity compared to the same period in 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased from Belarus 902 tons (3 times more YoY) worth $2.68 million (3.3 times more YoY), 225 tons (-1%) from Germany worth $1.19 million (-7%), 347 tons (-53%) from Russia worth $1.1 million (-44%), 305 tons (+60%) from Türkiye worth $1 million (+61%), and 246.7 tons (+20%) from Ukraine worth $915,500 (+36%).

In 2023, of the 2,872 tons of preserved chicken meat imported to Azerbaijan from 17 countries, Russia accounted for 34.5%, Belarus for 16.6%, and Ukraine for 14%.
