Azerbaijan to launch local production of agrodrones

Azerbaijan plans to launch local production of agrodrones this year in cooperation with Türkiye, the director of the Center for Agricultural Innovations under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture, Anar Jafarov, told Report.

According to Jafarov, within the framework of the recent bootcamp in Zangilan, one of the largest Turkish companies in the field of agricultural drone production, Sapmaz Air Transport and Advanced Technologies Industry, reached an agreement with a local company and the Baku Engineering University.

"Currently, legal work related to production is underway. In the coming months, the parties will begin specific work. Drones will most likely be produced in the laboratories and park of the university," Jafarov said.

He also noted that agrodrones will be produced mainly for the local market. This will expand the use of innovative technologies in Azerbaijani agriculture and help meet the high demand of the local market.

Currently, agrodrones are imported to Azerbaijan mainly from Türkiye and China under a special permit.
