Azerbaijan seeks to involve international experts in land consolidation initiatives

Azerbaijan is aiming to engage international experts and specialists from countries with advanced experience in land consolidation as it moves forward with its own national programs, the Ministry of Agriculture has announced.

According to Report, the initiative was discussed during the 16th international LANDNET workshop organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Budapest. An Azerbaijani delegation participated in the event.

The workshop addressed the issues of the prospects of land consolidation and land banking, the development of a competitive agricultural sector rooted in family farms, and the advancement of vibrant rural communities offering decent living conditions for all, including youth and women. The discussions also focused on enhancing countries’ preparedness for developmental challenges, with a special emphasis on climate change resilience.

The Ministry emphasized that leveraging international expertise will be crucial to effectively implementing land consolidation policies and promoting sustainable rural development across Azerbaijan.
