Azerbaijan resumes cottonseed oil exports from Turkiye

In January-July 2022, Azerbaijan exported 2,083 tons of cottonseed oil for $2.684 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period last year, the exports decreased by 13.2% in value and by 42.4% in quantity.

Azerbaijan exported 1,098 tons (31% less than a year ago) to Turkiye for $1.471 million (+6.4%), 910 tons (-54%) to Tajikistan for $1.102 million (-33.7%), 54.2 tons (-1.5%) to Kyrgyzstan for $83,680 (+69.4%) and 20.7 tons to Syria for $26,810.

This year, for the first time in the last 11 years, Azerbaijan exported cottonseed oil to Syria.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 147.13 tons (+43.2 times) of cottonseed oil for $168,950 (+33 times).

In particular, Azerbaijan imported 144.7 tons of cottonseed oil for $164,090 from Turkiye and 2.43 tons (-28.5%) from Iran for $4,860 (-4.7%).

The supply from Turkiye was resumed after a break of five years and six months.
