Azerbaijan resumes beef imports from two countries

In the first seven months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 864.5 tons of frozen beef for $4.117 million, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee

Compared to the same period of last year, this is 64.7% less in value and 70.7% less in quantity.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 485 tons (-80%) from Ukraine for $2.306 million (76.6% less than a year ago), 220.48 tons (-50%) from Brazil for $713,850 (-43.3%) ), 125.43 tons (+2 times) from India for $633,250 (+2.1 times), 12.55 tons (+77.1 times) from Russia for $196,730 (+2.3 times), and 5.82 tons from Belarus for $68,470 (there was no supply a year ago).

After a break of two years and two months, the supply from Australia was restored, and after two years and one month from Spain. Azerbaijan imported 0.19 tons of beef for $11,450 from Australia and 1 ton of beef from Spain for $8,050.

In 2021, 80% of the 4,450 tons of frozen bovine meat that Azerbaijan bought from abroad (from 13 countries) came from Ukraine and 14% from India.
