Azerbaijan represented at Ministerial Conference of Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov participated in the 9th Ministerial Conference on Food Security and Agricultural Development of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Doha, Qatar, Report informs, citing the ministry.

The conference discussed the promotion of rural development, the prevention of food wastage, the efficient management of water resources, increasing investments in the agricultural sector, strengthening of digital transformation in the agricultural sector and other issues.

Later, the minister participated in the opening of the Discover Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, which started its activities in Doha. Mammadov first got acquainted with the Azerbaijan pavilion established by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and then attended the opening of the Türkiye pavilion. Having met with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye, Ibrahim Yumaklı, the minister highly valued the brotherly country's participation in the exhibition. Later, Mammadov got acquainted with the pavilions of other countries participating in the exhibition and exchanged ideas with the participants of the exhibition.

Discover Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha will last until March 28 next year. The exhibition is organized in Al Bidda Park, one of the largest parks in Doha, under the theme "Green Desert, Better Environment".
