Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are interested in organizing joint agribusiness forums to strengthen relations between entrepreneurs.
Report informs that the discussions on this issue were held in a meeting between the Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov and Kazakh Ambassador Alim Bayel.
Mammadov said that the close friendly relations between the two countries allow to develop cooperation in agriculture and other fields. Informing the ambassador about state support to the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan, the minister said that Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector with Kazakhstan.
The meeting discussed strengthening the legal base between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the agricultural field, increasing the trade turnover of agricultural and food products, transferring advanced technologies in the field of agriculture, implementing experimental programs in the fields of scientific research and education in the agricultural sector and others.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan reiterated the importance of expanding cooperation in all fields between the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT), and it was noted that increasing the trade turnover using the favorable geographical position and transport infrastructure opportunities is one of the priority directions.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, in turn, emphasized that his country attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with Azerbaijan. The ambassador said that there is great potential for the expansion of mutual relations in agriculture, and he will spare no effort to develop cooperation in this field.
The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and scientific research institutes specialized in agriculture.
