Azerbaijan eyes breeding yaks in Karabakh

Azerbaijan plans to purchase yaks from Tajikistan for breeding in the Karabakh region, Report informs citing Asia+.

This issue was discussed during an online meeting of Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elchin Zeynalov with representatives of the Tajik Ministry of Agriculture.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Nigina Anvari expressed her interest in importing feed for livestock and fish from Azerbaijan.

The issue of trade in agricultural products between the countries was discussed, taking into account the increase in the export potential of Tajikistan.

The parties exchanged views on cooperation in the field of breeding new varieties of cotton, rice and other crops with good yield potential, the creation of joint ventures for the processing of agricultural products, and the import of chestnuts, rosemary and olive trees from Azerbaijan to Tajikistan.

The parties also discussed the issue of training highly qualified personnel in the field of agriculture.
