Azerbaijan begins fig imports from Uzbekistan, Afghanistan

In January-February of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 22.46 tons of figs (fresh or dried), valued at $119,100, marking a year-on-year increase of 62% in volume and 59% in value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased figs from:
- Türkiye: 10.72 tons (-53%) worth $70,440 (-0.2%);
- Uzbekistan: 10.14 tons worth $40,560;
- Iran: 1 ton (+2.6 times) worth $4,980 (+46%);
- Afghanistan: 0.6 tons of figs worth $3,110.
In 2025, Azerbaijan imported figs from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan for the first time in the past 14 years, according to publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
