Azerbaijan’s State Reserves Agency has submitted a request for the supply of 100,000 tons of food wheat from Moldova, President of the Association of Exporters and Producers of Agricultural Products and Cereals Igor Grigoriev said after a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Moldova Gudsi Osmanov, Report informs citing the Moldovan media.
Grigoriev clarified that it is planned to supply the indicated volume of grain in the period from October 2022 to February 2023 in equal batches (20,000 tons per month).
“I believe that this is a good opportunity for our producers to take part in the deal, and the first step is the auction announced by the Agency of Material Reserves of Moldova to replenish the volume of food wheat in the state reserve,” said the head of the association, urging Moldovan farmers to register before September 12 to participate in the said auction.
He also added that Azerbaijan, for its part, is ready to consider the possibility of supplying fertilizers to Moldova.
