Oleksandr Kobylev, head of the Kharkiv regional police war crimes department, revealed the number of casualties in the region attacked by Russia in recent days.

He told Report that Russia has carried out a thousand airstrikes on Kharkiv up to now: “On the territory of the province, in the city and its surrounding settlements, in the settlements located on the state border line of Ukraine, strikes were carried out using UAVs and rockets. As a result of attacks on Kharkiv since the beginning of the year, 405 civilians have been injured, and more than 100 people, including 11 children, have been killed.”

He noted that attacks on the city of Kharkiv have intensified recently: “Missiles are used to attack infrastructure facilities and the energy system. Attacks on critical areas have been carried out over the past week. As a result, there was an electricity crisis in the city. Russia uses S-300.”

He said that those missiles were undoubtedly aimed at power plants in Kharkiv: “The population is deprived of telecommunications, water supply, and telephone service. Our energy workers are constantly working to restore the damaged infrastructure. They are doing their best to restore the power supply and deliver it to the people. Energy systems were destroyed as a result of mass attacks.”
