Political stability and security are important for peace in the South Caucasus, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Masatsugu Asakawa said at a press conference within the 57th annual meeting of the bank in the capital of Georgia, answering a question about the beginning of the process of demarcation of borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Report's correspondent informs from Tbilisi.
"We were deeply concerned about the escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia, but the conflict has already ended," he said, adding that political stability and security are very important for peace in the region and that world leaders will contribute to achieving peace.
According to him, ADB has provided and is providing assistance to many countries, including the countries of the South Caucasus.
Asakawa also emphasized that ADB is pleased to support projects to open regional connections in the South Caucasus.
