Swedish court orders Russia to pay $1.55M for renting trade mission building

A Swedish court has ordered Russia to pay more than 16 million Swedish kronor ($1.55 million) for non-payment of rent for the building of the Russian trade mission, Report informs referring to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

The building of the Russian trade mission in Stockholm, which was sold at auction in 2012. The sale of the property was carried out on the basis of a decision of the Supreme Court of Sweden, adopted in 2011 after considering the claim of German businessman Franz Sedelmayer against Russia. For several years, the entrepreneur tried to recover from Moscow the damages he suffered while trying to organize a business in St. Petersburg in the early 1990s.
